When the Wan obsesses over food

August 31, 2009 zee Leave a comment

For the past 10 days, my husband has been capturing every single dish he has had for iftar (breaking of fast) and put them up on this dedicated post of his blog. There are some embarrassing photos of my cooking as well. He updates the post daily because his aim is to put on weight for Raya.

I’ve been enjoying this freedom of having to cook here. I am really greatful for Shegar to let me have the kitchen entirely. The kitchen is a woman’s haven, really. This Ramadhan has been truly a bless for me. MasyaAllah.

When Badoque does Semi-Buffet

Badoque Semi-Buffet Ramadhan Iftar

While last year Badoque had full-buffet for iftar promotion, this year they are offering a cheaper alternative: a semi-buffet. What’s a semi-buffet? You get to choose your main-course, while the others (drinks, starters, desserts) are on buffet – or rather, free flow!

Click below to see the two menus they offer, one for odd weeks of Ramadhan, while the other is for the even weeks.

When I cooked

April 5, 2009 zee Leave a comment

True to my 2009 resolution; to be the cooking wife, today I cooked 2 dishes at the kitchen-that-is-yet-to-be-mine-fully. Hahaha. I cooked black pepper chicken along with the Wan’s self-declared favourite vegetable dish.

Slowly, but surely, I’m going to make this a habit soon ;)

When I became the visiting chef

February 24, 2009 zee Leave a comment

On Sunday, the Wan had soccer at the field of my secondary school. Since it’s so near to my sister’s place, I decided to make my way there as early as he did and ended up being the visiting chef *giggles*

I guess I’m still used to the many people in my family and I like cooking alot. With whatever there was in the kitchen, I decided to cook seafood tom yam and black pepper chicken.

The above photos were taken on the Wan’s new LG Renoir phone. So chantek!

Last night, my mom gave me an SOS call to come and help cook for her. My aunt from Johor came unannounced and decided to stay for the night. So my almost-frantic mom who already had her massage scheduled this morning needed help with the cooking. Again, today, I was the visiting chef and  I cooked ayam lemak pedas (as requested by Dad) and stir-fried vege in oyster sauce.

And the below photos, are taken from my new phone, which doesn’t have an 8Megapixel camera like the Wan’s phone does. So excuse the quality hehe

I don’t know if I should put up the recipe but should there be anyone who wishes to try what I’ve done here, can leave me your email address and I can send you the recipe heh ;)

If you haven’t heard or read about it, Badoque has gone buffet during this fasting month of Ramadhan. If you haven’t been to Badoque, you might want to go for the buffet as you can taste the variety of food in a spread. Oh and their menu changes weekly, according to the odd/even weeks in the month. Buffet starts from dusk til all you can eat! hehe

Yesterday, when I called at 5pm, I had the 2nd-last table available! So you might want to call them for reservation early.  Badoque is at Simpang Bedok (behind Shop N Save building). For reservations, call 6446 6928.

As it is the month of Ramadhan, to respect those who might be reading this post in the day while they are fasting, I have hidden all photos.

Click “Read the rest of this entry” below, for photos of food and the menu Badoque offers during Ramadhan.
