Day 1/10
This morning was the last time I used my toilet to crap and the bathroom to shower. My toilet and bathroom are going through heavy renovation works under the HDB home-upgrading scheme. It has seriously taken me by surprise how this whole thing is taking place for the next 9 more days.
We were in fact baffled and the Wan is on urgent leave today to monitor the situation and because we were simply trapped somehow.
They have made a “walkway” of sorts from the main door all the way in to the kitchen to where the toilet & bathroom are. I have been “trapped” in my hall since they began works from 8am. There are plastic “shields” all over and I cannot even get into my room effortlessly. So when they stopped for lunch, we quickly took the CPU & monitor out and I got them fixed so I can still do my work and be present while the renovation works are on-going.
Tonight, we’ll get ourselves better prepared for the next 9 days. We’ll take out our essentials and move it to the MIL’s room instead, since her room is not in the way of the renovation works. I’ll definitely have to get the computer table out – having the PC on the coffee table and me sitting on the floor is so uncomfortable. I am already aching!
I also will need to figure out how in the world do I take wudhuk. The temporary toilet is one stairway away from mine (and I for one have issues with public toilets) and by the time I try to get back 4 floors up, into my hall/the MIL’s room, I’ll be covered in dust again from the narrow plastic sheilds. Macam tak guna siao!
Gosh, the thought of not able to get out of the house while all these are going on is so irritating. I cannot really focus because the noise is too much for me to take and the dust, oh I can’t even tell you how many times I wiped my keyboard & mouse already!
