I have a couple of Islamic English songs by Sami Yusuf. I searched for Sami Yusuf after watching the Kite Runner. His song, Supplication, was featured in the movie. There’s one particular song, I’ve Seen, where Sami Yusuf sang with a group called Outlandish. It began my search for who made up Outlandish. Turned out to be a group of Danish guys; a Catholic and 2 Muslims. Very interesting combo. In their Wikipedia page, it is said that Outlandish’s hit single was “Aicha”.
When I heard the song, it was so familiar and then I realised, I’ve heard a Malay version of it by Yasin. I began to do some Googling and Wiki-ing. And so, the original Aicha was written by a French guy and performed by Cheb Khaled, an Algerian. Outlandish and Yasin just did their covers. Interesting.
Here are the 3 versions of the song Aisyah or rather, Aicha:
Cheb Khaled – Aicha
Outlandish – Aicha
Yasin – Aisyah
Islam, the lead singer of Outlandish, is such an eye candy! Anyway, I’m loving their song, Callin’ U. Here:
